SoBro Profile

SoBro (South Broad Ripple)

Spanning roughly the area from Kessler Boulevard down to 52nd Street, in between College to the east and Keystone to the west, the SoBro area is crossed by the Monon Trail and features a wide selection of restaurants and shops. It contains properties varying in size from small bungalows to large and ornate three story houses. Surrounded by trees and parks, SoBro brings a small town feel to a major city!
A variety of architectural styles can be found in SoBro. The typical lot is around 8,000 square feet, allowing plenty of room for gardens and landscaping. Home range from brick ranch and one or two story bungalows, typically starting at the $160,000 range, to larger foursquare, Victorian or Tudor houses which might cost upwards of $250,000 depending on the updates and amenities. Many of the residential streets are within easy walking or biking distance of nearby attractions, and the area is typically quiet with little traffic.

Just across Kessler Boulevard to the north, Broad Ripple park offers a swimming pool, boat access to White River, and 62 acres of pastoral surroundings. Dog walkers, joggers, skaters and cyclists in SoBro have no shortage of scenary to take in while they explore the outdoors.

A message on the wall of the SoBro Cafe (right) hints at the subdued nature of the area. While not exactly a secret, it represents a corner of Indianapolis tucked far away from the commotion of the city - but not too far. A drive straigth down College Ave to the south will get you to downtown Indianapolis in fifteen minutes time.
